Public consultation on the "Harmonized Methodology for Calculating the Price of Electricity Balancing Service"

Elering is launching a public consultation on the "Harmonized Methodology for Calculating the Price of Electricity Balancing Service" (hereinafter: the methodology) amendment proposal, which introduces a relief measure. According to this measure, from February 1 to June 30, 2025, the entire cost of procuring frequency reserves for consumers and producers will be covered using congestion income. The reason for the methodology amendment is the need to mitigate the impact of the methodology's implementation on electricity consumers and producers in Estonia, including taking into account the delay in the implementation of similar methodologies in Latvia and Lithuania. Please note that the methodology is available only in Estonian.

The deadline for feedback on the public consultation is November 21, 2024, and feedback should be submitted to marie.kalmet@elering.ee.
