Connecting to the gas network
Category B and C gas installations as well as category D gas installations (i.e. consumers exceeding 0.1 bar) can connect to the gas transmission system within the limits of technical possibilities.
Only category D gas installations (all producers whose connection points are built for a pressure above 16 bar) can connect in the generation-oriented manner.
The connection conditions and legislation governing the field of connection to the gas network are listed on the page Connection conditions and legislation.
Submission of applications
To connect to the gas transmission system, an application (in Estonian) must be submitted to the address [email protected].
Application for pre-feasibility study
When submitting an application for a pre-feasibility study, the technical conditions are sent to the client within 90 days from the receipt of the application. The technical conditions provide the client with an overview of the volume of construction work necessary to ensure the grid connection, the amount of the connection fee, the expected time of the completion of the connection, the transmission capacity of the transmission system and/or connection point, relevant data regarding the status of the gas system of the transmission system, and other technical requirements.
The technical conditions are non-binding and are drawn up taking into account the offers for a connection contract, connection contracts, and the condition of the gas transmission system applicable at the time of their issuance. Elering has the right to amend the technical conditions in the course of the subsequent connection process or when requesting a new pre-feasibility study.
Submission of an application for a pre-feasibility study and issuance of technical conditions is free of charge for the client.
Connection application
In the connection application, the client must provide the required technical data regarding their gas installation and its consumption and/or generation conditions. To receive a connection offer, the client is required to pay the processing fee.
The connection offer is made to the client within 90 days from the acceptance of the connection application, and the offer is valid for 180 days.
