From 1 November to 2 December 2024, Elering conducted a public consultation on the Estonian electricity transmission system development plan for 2025–2034. The feedback from market participants can be found on the public consultation page.

Development plan 2024-2033

From 11 October to 10 November 2023, Elering submitted a ten-year development plan for the Estonian electricity transmission system for public consultation, providing an overview of investments in the transmission system, development plans, and security of supply in Estonia.

Nine market participants, the Ministry of Climate and the Competition Authority provided feedback on the development plan. Elering made additions to the development plan based on the feedback and thanks all parties for the meaningful feedback. The volume of feedback was large, with the most talked-about topics being the international connections to Finland and Latvia being developed by Elering and the developments in renewable energy (wind farms, offshore network). Regarding connections, questions were asked about the concept of the planned development obligation. Regarding the Renewable Energy 100 programme, comments were made on the distribution of the production portfolio and arguments were presented regarding the consumption forecast.
