The 330/110 kV Harku-Lihula-Sindi overhead high voltage power line under construction is one of the largest domestic infrastructure projects. The new line will be for the most part constructed as a twin circuit line, with both 330 kV and 110 kV circuits on the same masts, and with fibre optic lightning protection. Two separate circuits with different voltages will be located on shared masts to reduce the amount of land falling into the protection zone under the line and thus the limitations placed on landowners. The new Harku-Lihula-Sindi overhead line is approximately 170 kilometres long and passes through eight counties.
