The Number of Open-Ended Electricity Contracts Increased by 2,000 Within a Month
According to the statistics of Andmeladu, the data warehouse administrated by Elering, open-ended or mainly exchange-based electricity purchase contracts were in force in more than 146,000 consumption points at the end of July, which is close to 2,000 more than at the end of June.
At the same time, the number of fixed-term contracts decreased by 1,000 in July, reaching 418,000. In total, electricity purchase contracts had been concluded in more than 564,000 consumption points at the end of last month.
The ratio of electricity consumed at consumption points with electricity contracts was 94 per cent of total consumption similarly to June.
The number of consumers who decided to switch their electricity provider and whose contract switch to the new provider entered into force at the beginning of August was close to 1,100.
The table below presents the market shares of sellers’ balance portfolios for the last few months. The calculation of portfolio shares is based on regional consumption capacities that include grid losses of network operators and universal service usage volumes. Pre-fixed supply to consumers has not been taken into account, as a result of which the actual sales shares may differ slightly from those presented in the table.
