The number of electricity contracts without a term is rising, while the number of contracts with a term is falling
The number of users of fixed-term electricity packages has decreased by a thousand within the past month to 366,000 contracts, while the number of open-ended contracts has increased by the same amount and reaches 214,000 contracts.
The total number of agreements for electricity purchase is in place at 580,000 consumption points, which accounts for 81% of all consumption points. The number of general service users has remained stable for several months, reaching approximately up to 138,000 consumption points. General service consumers accounted for only 4.1% of consumption in July 2016.
Since the beginning of September, 600 consumption points changed their electricity supplier. At the beginning of August, the same indicator was 1,200 and at the beginning of July, it was 2,000.
The market shares of the electricity sellers’ balance portfolios for the last few months are presented in the table below. The weights of the portfolios are based on measurements of regional consumption volumes, which include network operators’ network losses in addition to general service volumes. The calculation does not include fixed-supply consumers; therefore, the actual market shares may differ slightly from the information given in the table.
