This June, gas sellers imported 4.7 million cubic metres of natural gas from Lithuania – 24 per cent of total gas imports.

Last month, natural gas was imported from Lithuania by Baltic Energy Partners, Eesti Energia, Reola Gaas and Litgas.

Last month, Estonia imported a total of 19.8 million cubic metres of natural gas, which is 2.9 per cent more in a year-on-year comparison. Of this, 15.1 million cubic metres of gas was imported from Russia.

In June, natural gas transmission services rendered by Elering totalled 19.9 million cubic metres. Of that, the amount of service rendered to the biggest natural gas distribution network – AS Gaasivõrgud – was 18.1 million cubic metres. The gas transmission pipeline’s estimated gas reserve increased by 47.6 per cent in a yearly comparison to 4.1 million cubic metres. This was a slight decrease in comparison with May.

According to Elering’s calculations, the average price cap of Gazprom’s natural gas imports to Estonia was 23.00 euros per megawatt-hour. In Lithuania, the average price of natural gas traded on the Get Baltic gas exchange was 18.09 euros per megawatt-hour in June. On the Kaasupörssi gas exchange in Finland, comparable gas prices were in the range of 16.62 to 20.61 euros per megawatt-hour.

In June, natural gas was imported to Estonia via Karksi and Värska as well as Narva. In the second half of the month, the main share of gas came through Narva. In the last days of June, gas imports came partly via Karksi and Värska to ensure that the gas bought from Lithuania would reach Estonia.

In June, 460.8 million cubic metres of natural gas moved through the gas transit pipeline that passes through southeast Estonia, which is 4.6 per cent less in a year-on-year comparison.
