In total, close to 1,093 gigawatt-hours of natural gas entered the natural gas transmission network administered by Elering, of which transit from Russia to Latvia made up 596 gigawatt-hours, three times greater than in the same period last year.

The transmission pipe volume reserve in October was 46 gigawatt-hours, dropping 16 per cent compared to November last year.

Elering administers the register of certificates of origin of gas, according to which 5,029 megawatt-hours of green gas – biomethane – was produced in November. Production of green gas of domestic origin was started this April and a total of 33,911 megawatt-hours of methane were produced over seven months in Estonia, this being largely consumed in the transport sector.
