As of July, 5,300 Consumption Points Will Receive Electricity From a New Seller

According to the statistics from Data Warehouse managed by Elering, the electricity seller will change in approximately 5,300 consumption points in the beginning of July. In July last year, approximately 4,400 consumption points changed their electricity seller.

1,500 clients decided to change their electricity sellers and their contracts with the new seller entered into force in the beginning of June.

The number of consumers with open-ended contracts, whose electricity package is tied to the market price, continues to rise – in May, the number of open-ended contracts increased by 2,000, reaching 142,000 contracts by the end of the month. The number of fixed-term contracts decreased by about 600, reaching 420,000. By the end of May the total of 562,000 consumption points had secured electricity contracts, which is 79 percent of all consumption points.

The rate of electricity consumption in consumption points with electricity contracts made up 93 percent of total consumption, which equals the rate in March, but has decreased by one percent compared to April.

The market shares of sellers’ balance sheet portfolios of the last few months are presented in the table below. Calculating portfolio rates is based on regional consumption amounts that include grid losses of grid companies and volumes of the general service. Pre-fixed supply to consumers has not been taken into account, whereby the actual sales shares may differ slightly from the sales shares presented in the table.
