Elering has announced the 2016 energetics grant competition, which masters and doctoral candidates carrying out research in the field of energetics connected with their final projects are invited to apply for.

The grant shall be paid for a topic given by Elering or for research on a freely chosen subject. This year’s prescribed topics are “Development of necessary applications for the smart network platform Estfeed for the provision of electricity services,” “An implicit (indirect) capacity allocation mechanism on the Baltic gas market and the possibilities for the inter-regional price risk hedging,” and “Work under induced voltage and safe work methods.”

Elering will award two grants worth 10 000 euros each, and these will be paid out in monthly instalments over the calendar year. The deadline for the submission of applications is 14 March.

The energetics grant forms part of Elering’s social responsibility programme, through which Elering contributes to the promotion of education in the field of energetics and increases in social awareness of energetics-related topics, and thereby supports research and development projects.

Further information on the conditions for application can be found on the Elering website, www.elering.ee/stipendium. This is the fifth year that the grant competition has been held. The aim of the competition is to support graduate students in topical energetics-related research work.
