The total amount of natural gas that Estonia imported last month decreased by two per cent in a yearly comparison, reaching 41.0 million cubic metres, but the share of gas imported from Lithuania increased to 27 per cent. In March, the same indicator was 18 per cent.

Baltic Energy Partners, Eesti Energia, Reola Gaas and Litgas, altogether imported over 11 million cubic metres of natural gas from Lithuania. In March, the same companies imported 10.6 million cubic metres of gas.

Eesti Gaas imported 30 million cubic metres of gas last month, which was 73 per cent of total imports.

In a year-on-year comparison, the transmission service volume provided by Elering’s gas transmission network increased by one percent, reaching 41.9 million cubic metres. The transmission service volume provided to the largest contribution network AS Gaasivõrgud totalled 36.7 million cubic metres.

In a monthly calculation, the gas transmission pipeline’s gas reserve fell by 1.1 million cubic metres.

83.6 million cubic metres of natural gas moved between Latvia and Russia through the gas transmission pipeline running through southeast Estonia, which is 5 per cent more compared to April 2014.

According to Elering’s calculations, the average price cap of Gazprom’s natural gas imports to Estonia was 26.5 euros per megawatt-hour. In Lithuania, the average price of natural gas traded on the Get Baltic gas exchange was 21.3 euros per megawatt-hour last month.
