Yesterday, at 14.30 an accident occurred while Eltel were replacing the fibre-optic cables on Elering’s Aruküla-Kallavere high-voltage line. The cable broke and fell off the masts onto power lines owned by Eesti Energia Jaotusvõrk, rail lines and a road. Elering’s 110 kV line was not live at the time. Two cars were damaged, but first reports indicate that no people have been injured.


There are power outages in the area, rail traffic on the Aruküla-Lagedi line has been stopped and traffic on the Aruküla-Jüri road is disrupted.

Work is underway to remove the cable and we will give further information on its progress as it becomes known. The emergency services are in attendance at the scene.

Update from yesterday, at 18 pm

At 16:45 the cable was removed and rail traffic restored.

Traffic on the Aruküla-Jüri road was restored at 17:30.

 

Täna kella 16.45 oli tross eemaldatud ning rongiliiklus on taastunud.

 

Autoliiklus Aruküla-Jüri maanteel taastati kella 17.30. paiku.
