The volume of natural gas imports reached 185.2 gigawatt-hours this June, with an estimated 16 per cent originating in Lithuania.

Due to the higher air temperature, gas imports was lower by four per cent compared to June last year. The majority of the gas imports entered the Estonian gas network via the Karksi and Värska gas-metering stations. The volume of imports per 24-hour period ranged between 2.4 and 11.3 gigawatt-hours last month.

In June, the amount of domestic transmission service rendered by Elering decreased by three per cent compared to June last year and totalled 186.2 gigawatt-hours. The reserve capacity of the transmission pipeline decreased by eight per cent in a yearly calculation, and stood at 47.8 gigawatt-hours at the end of the month.

On the Lithuanian gas exchange, the average price for gas in June was 19.26 euros per megawatt-hour and the comparable price on the Finnish Kaasupörssi was 20.25 euros per megawatt-hour. At the same time, the price on the German GASPOOL was 15.14 euros per megawatt-hour.
