Number of Consumption Points with Electricity Contracts Increased by 1,000 in June

According to the statistics from the Data Warehouse information system managed by Elering, 563,000 consumption points had valid electricity contracts at the end of June, exceeding the result at the end of May by almost 1,000. This means 79 per cent of consumption points are covered by electricity contracts.

Out of the valid electricity contracts, 419,000 were fixed-term contracts, with the remaining 144,000 being open-ended. The number of fixed-term contracts has decreased by 1,000 over the last month and the number of open-ended or mostly exchange-based electricity package users has increased by almost 2,000.

The ratio of electricity consumption at consumption points with electricity contracts was 94 per cent of total consumption in June. In April, this indicator was also 94 per cent; in May, 93 per cent.

Approximately 5,300 clients decided to change their electricity sellers, with the contracts with the new sellers entering into force at the beginning of July.

The table below presents the market shares of sellers’ balance portfolios for the last few months. The calculation of portfolio shares is based on regional consumption capacities that include grid losses of network operators and universal service usage volumes. Pre-fixed supply to consumers has not been taken into account, as a result of which the actual sales shares may differ slightly from those presented in the table.
