According to the Electricity Market Act, producers generating electricity from renewable energy and in efficient co-generation mode (hereinafter “producer”) have the following monthly obligations:

  • date (working day) – The producer ensures that the transmission system operator has access to data on the total electricity production of the previous calendar month by production devices and on how much electricity it generated from renewable energy sources or in efficient co-generation mode during the previous calendar month. Data is submitted electronically via remotely readable meters every hour to the data exchange platform managed by Elering.
  • date (working day) – The producer submits an application for support for the electricity produced in the previous month and supplied to the network on an hourly basis through the Renewable Energy Information System.
  • 21st date (or the following working day) – Elering makes the payment based on the application for support.

Annual obligations regarding the determination of the additional cost of financing support for renewable energy and efficient co-generation:

  • November – The producers send to Elering their production forecast for the next calendar year. The distribution system operator and the line possessor send to Elering a forecast of the volume of network services to be provided in the next calendar year and the quantity of electricity to be transmitted for consumption via a direct line.
  • December – Elering publishes information on the additional cost of financing support for renewable electricity and efficient co-generation for the next calendar year on its website.
