Gas Transmission Network Operator Receives Provisional Activity License

On Friday, the Estonian Competition Authority granted a provisional activity license for the rendering of gas transmission services to the gas transmission network operator AS EG Võrguteenus.

The Estonian Competition Authority has confirmed that, in a situation where AS Elering has gained sole influence over EG Võrguteenus, the company has the necessary prerequisites to render gas transmission services independently.

The provisional activity licence given to EG Võrguteenus will remain valid until the full activity licence is granted. In order to grant a full activity license, it is important to achieve a situation where none of the gas transmission network owners are involved in the trading of gas. Elering’s goal is to become the sole owner of the gas transmission network and to submit an application for the full activity license as soon as possible.
